Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) was a Scottish-born American industrialist who created modern steel production as we know it today.

Carnegie vastly improved the quality of steel and made it more affordable. The result was a staggering increase in steel use which meant that humanity could build more, better, bigger and safer.

His efforts helped to transform America from an agrarian nation into the industrial motor of the world, thereby bringing about unprecedented economic progress benefiting hundreds of millions of people.
